The region is located in the very center of Lithuania and can be reached by all possible means – land, rail, water and air.

The main rail (European I and IX D) and road (European I – Via Baltica – and IX B) transport corridors in the East-West and North-South directions intersect at the Kaunas transport hub. Travel and freight can also be transported by water, from the rivers of Kaunas to the ice-free Klaipėda seaport.

Transit cargo is transported from here by various means of transport in different directions. It is the largest cargo airport in the Baltic States and the base airport for Ryanair, which is setting up a maintenance base for Ryanair aircraft.
