Kaunas Region Development Plan to 2020 (2010)

Kaunas Regional Development Agency, in cooperation with representatives of Kaunas regional municipalities and socio-economic partners of Kaunas Regional Council, has prepared Kaunas Regional Development Plan till 2020, which foresees regional development perspectives till 2020. In the vision formed in the plan, Kaunas region is seen as a modern economic region of Lithuania and Central and Eastern Europe, a center of science, high and information technologies, culture and tourism with a well-developed international transport and logistics infrastructure.

Kaunas Region Image Creation Program (2009)

The Agency has developed an image building program for Kaunas region. The program consists of several components: image of Kaunas region in tourism sector, attraction of foreign and local investments, formation of a positive image of Kaunas region as an attractive region for work and life.

Tourism Development Strategy of Kaunas Region for 2007-2013 (2006)

The Agency developed the strategy in co-operation with experts of Kaunas County Municipal Administrations and Kaunas Governor’s Administration.

Preparation of Strategic Plan for Development of Jonavos District Municipality Rukla eldership until 2015 (2006)

Kaunas Regional Development Agency in cooperation with Jonava district municipality administration and Rukla eldership prepared strategic plan: analysis of current situation, economic and social situation; expert surveys of residents ‘and business institutions’ institutions were carried out, consulted in setting the vision of Rukla eldership development, drawing up the list of Rukla eldership development strategy priorities, elaborating the system of strategic plan implementation and monitoring.

Prepared material for the media and Ruklaeldership website. Also material for conferences, seminars, interviews with stakeholders.

Preparation of Strategic Plan for Development of Kaišiadorys District Municipality for 2007-2013 (2006)

Kaunas Regional Development Agency in cooperation with Kaišiadorys district municipality administration staff prepared Kaišiadorys strategic development plan: analysis of the current situation, economic and social situation based on expert surveys of Kaišiadorys district municipality residents and business enterprises, statistical data and other information sources; submitted by Kaišiadorys District Municipality Development 2007 2013 strategy, development vision, list of priorities, goals and objectives with concrete measures to implement them. It also provides a preliminary estimate of the resources needed to implement the measures and the responsible actors. A system for monitoring the implementation of the strategic development plan has been developed. Kaunas Regional Development Agency renewed 2003 Kaunas Regional Development Plan. The service was provided after winning the expert services tender organized by the Ministry of Interior (partners – UAB Eurointegracijos projects). This document is of particular importance for the Kaunas region in shaping the most important development trends and measures and seeking to effectively absorb EU support. A team of experts from Kaunas Regional Development Plan was formed from Kaunas scientists and worked out the Kaunas Regional Development Plan.

Kaunas County Municipalities and socio-economic partners are actively involved in the development of the Plan. The vision of Kaunas region near future, prepared by scientific analysis of the current state of economy and other spheres of life, development perspectives, opportunities, aspirations, links with European and world development tendencies, analyzing many other factors and defining the main goals.
